Have you ever thought about this?

This is really my thought, and I think at some point in time, you might have thought about this as well. Now, what makes automatic coffee makers better than single serve coffee makers?

of course, some of you reading this might say that "no, single serve coffee maker" is better, if so, why is that so? Now, there is this thing call perception, and if you perceive it so, why?

It all boils down to good marketing. Now, the single serve coffee makers have a huge army of marketing folks that are good in what they are doing, so almost any single cup coffee makers out in the market is good.

For automatic coffee makers, you probably heard of a few brands only, bunn, mr coffee and maybe braun. I am not saying that their machines are not good.

On the contrary, their machines are good, and they have to be good in order to adervtise and market themselves in such a manner, if they don't I think it is illegal or something like that.

The question is why it is that you have only heard of a few brands in the market? well, it is because these are the brands that are marketing their brands, communicating it to the public.

So, if you think about it, good automatic coffee maker is in your mind, and this perception might just have been shaped by the many marketers out there...

How automatic coffee makers can be?

There is always a limit, a restrictions on how automatic a machine can be, and this is true for automatic coffee makers. No matter, how much technology, there would be steps that still has to be manual, for example, the putting in of coffee grounds.

In fact, I have the thinking that the line is blurring between some espresso makers, drip filter coffee machine and the single cup coffee maker. All of them makes a cup of coffee with a button push, so what is the difference.

I think moving forward, this might be the case, where automatic coffee makers meant single cup coffee maker which might also mean espresso machines.

Ultimately, if people keep wanting to have more automation, single serve coffee maker would offer the most automation available, don't you agree?

Should you, or should you not read it?

There are so many reports saying so many things that it is at times difficult to say if those consumer reports coffee makers is found in can be trusted.

But, if you would to ask me, i say why bother! Think about it, now if those consumer reports really did a great job to compare coffee makers and in the end there gave you some real cheap coffee makers or even highlight to you the best coffee makers, it is totally useless to you...

Simply because those are choices either done by the masses or the experts. Which in either case, it is not about you!

And coffee makers should be about your taste, your profile, your ease with it. This is the equipment that can break or make your day and I am not sure if you want to leave it to some strangers...

I sure am not going to do that. You probably would want to read about them, but no, you would not want to take it as some gospel truth in buying coffee makers...

What should be used to compare coffee makers?

There are the 4 Ps that can be used to compare coffee makers and ultimately find a best coffee brewer that you would enjoy using. But, no matter what metrics or reviews you used to make your decision, in the end it is you that matters.

So what if this coffee maker is the cheapest or that coffee machine has the most number of functions? If you are not comfortable using it, it doesn't matter at all.

The most important thing is you not only need to be able to use the coffee machine, but enjoy using it.

It used to just taste, but I would want to put forward the idea that it is an entire package that matters. It is the experience of using and enjoying the process and the coffee that makes that coffee brewer -your best coffee brewer...

Are cheap coffee makers trust worthy?

It is a give and take situation, and for cheap coffee maker, you have to give something in order to get the lower price bracket. That thing happens to be "trust" or performance as we know it.

I am not saying that all cheap coffee makers are less trust worthy and prompt to break down, but the rule of thumb is these coffee machines tend to have something lesser than it more premium siblings right?

The usual make out of a coffee maker that is priced lesser is because of lesser features, not so good construction materials and also unknown brands.

I must say that once in a while, there would be good buy. If the first factor is the same as you compare coffee machines to machines, then it has to be the brand.

Brand equity can cause a huge difference in the pricing of coffee machine, but if it is this factor, go ahead and get the lower priced coffee maker -it is worth the while.

So, yes, there are cheap coffee makers that can be trusted, but you would need to take some time searching for it...

My thoughts about cheap coffee makers

The method of getting good value can go on and on. Cheap coffee makers meant different things to different people. I always thought that a good coffee maker that can last for a longer time is a better buy than a cheap machine that last for a while.

But, my friend convince otherwise, he told me that when I buy a $100 keurig, I do not know when it would break down. But if he would to buy a $20 krups, he knows it would probably last him for a few months.

So, if it last him for 6 months, he would be able to buy 5 which would brew him coffee for 2.5 years. Can my keurig go for that long without breaking down?

It is really hard to say. So, in this arguement, cheap coffee makers does have its merits. You do not have to worry about the machine breaking down, you just simply buy a new one.

It crosses my mind though that the part about good coffee is slightly harder to quantify though. I seriously doubt a coffee machine under $50 can produce any good coffee, I am waiting for my friend reply on that...

Would you care to know more about red color coffee machines, or stainless steel coffee makers? If you are most of us, then the answer would probably be no right? But, the fact is, there is a seizable group of consumers out there that really wants to know more and in fact make a purchase on these coffee makers.

Don't ask me what is the logic for looking for a particular color of coffee makers or even a particular material such as stainless steel but whatever their motivation is, they have a big enough group for people to be discussing about this terms.

If you think these searches is interesting, wait till you check out on the reasons people would want to know about the coffee makers that Uk likes or a machine such as the plumbed coffee maker.

Even if you are someone that has drink coffee for decades, this term might be something new to you, terms which you have not heard about before.

And that is the reason, there is a column dedicated to "strange coffee machines". The plus point is, the webmaster is now so interested in getting more interesting coffee machines, that he is offering a free ebook for every story posted -regardless of "how strange" it is.

I think that is really a win win situation. He would get to collect a lot of strange coffee machines posting and we in turn can look forward to some good read from his website.

Check out the link to do any posting and get your free ebook!

Can you imagine drinking a coffee brewed at home that is more expensive than what you buy from starbucks?

This is probably not a very sane decision especially when you do not have to do anything in Starbucks or any of the coffee house, all you need to do is simply to drink the coffee, so what is so hard about that?

When go to all the trouble brewing coffee at home (although the fact is, I am using single cup coffee maker, which is relatively easy to use) when you can bring cheaper coffee in the coffee house.

Well, this is because you cannot drink kopi luwak in starbucks and any of the coffee shop. This very rare coffee are only sold in very few shops and the only way to enjoy it is to brew it yourself.

That is the reason why it is alright to be spending such high amount of money on a coffee pod. Moreover, this is not something that you would drink frequently, so I guess it should be acceptable.

The storm part 2

Some of you actually emailed me about keurig coffee maker and want to know more about this coffee maker. I am happy that my post actually has some impact and some folks are actually reading it.

Now to answer the question on the most question that was posed to me, it is not that expensive. After reading about how powerful this fellow is, the next question people posed to me is one that is related to the pricing.

The price of the keurig coffee maker though is close to 100 dollars is nevertheless much cheaper than most espresso maker and this is a machine that delivers quality much better than most espresso machines.

Oh, the model to go for is the keurig b40. I call them the evergreen discount model, because they are always on discount...:))

SO, if you are looking for a keurig and want to look for a lower cost one, b40 is the one you should go for...

This fellow would take the market by storm

If it has not then it would be soon. By this fellow, I am referring to the keurig coffee maker. For those that have no idea what this is all about, it is about a brewer that brews coffee easily.

Keurig coffee maker belongs to this family of coffee maker known as single serve coffee maker. The main characteristics of this group of coffee maker is its ease of use and its no fuss maintenance.

I guess for those that have used coffee makers before, you would probably be more interested to know what I meant by no fuss maintenance. You must be tired of dismantling the coffee maker, washing the filter basket and stuff. Not washing is worse, because you would have to drink really lousy coffee.

Now, because it is single serve coffee, and each cup is brewed with one single pod, the spend coffee ground is simply thrown away after that. There is nothing on the machine that need to be cleaned.

What is so weird about best coffee makers, this is probably some folks looking for yet another coffee machine. The search is normal, I am talking about the results. There are simply too many of them all claiming the top spot.

Think of it this way, there can only be one best, but if you search the internet, there seems a sea of coffee makers all claiming that they are the best. Of course, you cannot blame the coffee maker company, marketeers have planned and come out with tags and campagins showcasing each coffee maker as best in something.

If the title of "best in savings" then they would go for "best in operation friendly" and you get all sorts of interesting awards by organization you would not have heard of before.

So, in a way all coffee makers are best in something. That is acceptable, but it gets very difficult to understand when coffee makers in the genre are also best in the same thing.

For example, Bunn and Zojirushi all are vying for the best thermal carafe position and both has some organization endorsing their awards, so which one should you believe?

My take on all these is to view it as a point of reference. Do not use it to buy your coffee maker, but use it to navigate and shortlist the coffee brewer you want to see and then use your own criteria to decide is a coffee brewer is suitable for you.

My friend Jack is looking for an easy to use coffee maker, so I asked him to get a chemex coffee maker, he was shocked. That is the way people are, when they asked you for advice, they do not really mean it.

I guess they are more looking for affirmation. He actually has his mind set on tassimo and as I keep talking about single serve coffee maker these days, he was think that I would recommend to him a tassimo if he is looking for something easier to use, little would be expect that I would propose a chemex.

But, a chemex is really easier to use and after I explained to him, he agreed that it is easier, but I think he is still going to get the tassimo.

To brew coffee, you only need to add water and the coffee ground. For cleaning, you only need to throw away the filter paper, rinse the coffee maker, dry it and keep it.

Although, the brewing for chemex is not as easy as the single serve coffee, until now, I cannot find a coffee maker that is easier to wash than the chemex. And I also think that if you are someone that is not fussy about drip coffee, then the taste that you would get from this brewer is the same if not better than the automated coffee machines.

Then, do you know that if you would to compare the costing between chemex and tassimo, the former would be so much cheaper. The coffee is cheaper than the t-disc and the operation using hot water that can be boiled using gas is also lower in cost than the tassimo.

So, my stand is still the same. If you are looking for an easy to use coffee maker, I would recommend a chemex coffee maker that is easier to use and cheaper to maintain.

This is a blog about coffee makers or should I say coffee maker reviews. Well, I guess nowadays, everyone has to blog about something, whether it is a cause for environment, a political cause or even a protest against the current financial crisis. So, here I am starting a blog to better our taste and palate. This is important,  don't you think so?

Everything that you do or feels traces to what you eat. Do you know that food can dramatically changes the way your emotions swing. Anyway, food and drink is important, so I decided that in my free time, I should write something about them. Then since I loves coffee and the equipment that make it, so why not write something about it, and that is how this blog got started.

Enough of all these introduction stuff. So,what is so special about this blog about coffee makers, there must be hundreds if not thousands of sites out there that are doing the same thing -what is so special about my blog? Well, I am not sponsored and would remain so, so that my views would also be impartial.

Then, I do not do the usual which machines is good, which brewers is lousy. Instead, I would focus on how to get the good coffee, is this machine easy to use rather than good to have. Most sites if you noticed, tells you which machine is the best. Sure, that machine might be great,  but for home usage, does it warrant the thousand of dollars?

If you are still reading, and are not bother by the grammar and language problems, you would know that this blog is type and uploaded totally unrehearsed. There is no editing. What I feel like writing, I would post. In this way, you would get the truest view on how a person think about a particular machine and coffee.

There would not be much in this first post, if you feel like some more stuff, try this coffee maker reviews, I promises it would give you a different insights on coffee machines...
